Chiropractic is covered under most health plans. Especially if you are injured on the job or in an auto accident. Often times, a medical doctor will merely prescribe pain medication to disguise the problem. Chiropractic addresses the root cause of pain and will get you back on your feet faster than medical treatment alone. Imagine feeling better, faster.
Dr. Lazar takes most major insurance carriers. Treatment can be less expensive than you might think.
Chiropractic is based on a scientific fact that your body is a self-healing organism, and that when under proper control of your nervous system, all the cells, tissues and organs of your body are designed to resist disease and poor health. The brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of the body control this important function. The skull protects the brain’s tissues. The moving spinal bones protect the communication pathways of the organs throughout the body. A misalignment within the 24 moving bones of the spinal column can irritate or impair the function of the nervous system and nerve impulses. Chiropractic is the science of locating offending spinal structures and restoring your own inborn ability to be healthy through manipulation. Chiropractic healthcare avoids invasive procedures, unnecessary surgeries and/or addictive drugs.
Your first visit will consist of a health history questionnaire, a physical examination, report of findings, and a treatment plan.
The health history includes questions regarding the primary complaint, general health, lifestyle, and family health history. Chiropractic care can help a wide range of health problems that on the surface may not be associated with back or neck pain. The physical examination includes postural analysis, motion palpation, range of motion tests, muscle strength, neurological and orthopedic testing. X-rays will only be taken if necessary, in order to come up with the right diagnosis. Besides an adjustment, chiropractors may use physiotherapies such as heat, ice, trigger point therapy, or other modalities. Dr. Lazar will also take the time to provide some education if you are not familiar with chiropractic care. He will also discuss your condition, and counsel you on preventative measures you can take in your daily life to live as healthy as you can.
A spinal adjustment is a specific application of forces used to facilitate the body’s correction of nerve interference. The force must be given with the right amount of pressure in the proper direction at the right time. What you can expect from your adjustment is a feeling of peace and relaxation that can last from a day to a week.
You will only receive the number of treatments necessary to correct the problem. Because our bodies are self-healing, your body will tell the doctor when you no longer need chiropractic care. As your condition improves, the number of adjustments will decrease and you’ll be placed on a wellness care program. Patients who receive wellness care following treatments are less likely to need extensive care for their conditions in the future. Just the same as having your eyes or teeth checked periodically, it is a good idea to have your spine checked from time to time. In this way, Dr. Lazar can detect and correct any nerve interference early and enhance your body’s ability to express its maximum health potential.
